Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August as a public holiday in India commemorating the nation’s independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947, the day when the provisions of the Indian Independence Act, which transferred legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly, came into effect.

Independence Day is like a big festival for all Indians. This is the national festival of India. Every year the flag is hoisted in the school on this day. Songs, dramas and dances related to patriotism, education and culture are presented by the students.

There is a different kind of excitement among children on Independence Day. In our country, Flag hoisting happens only for one day but children start celebrating the day after Makar Sankranti. Children prepare as much for religious festivals as they do for national festivals.

One of the main reasons for the enthusiasm among children is their participation in cultural programs.
They get a chance to prepare for the programs and also get an opportunity to learn something new. Under this pretext, the talent of children also comes to the fore.
